Even the egg 🥚—which we now decorate—was once used to symbolize rebirth and the cycle of life.

The rabbit 🐇? It’s a symbol of fertility 😜 and abundance from ancient spring traditions.

For Christians ✝️, Easter marks the resurrection of Jesus—a powerful reminder of hope, transformation, and life after hardship.

The Bank of Canada has decided not to change the interest rate, keeping it at 2.75%. This helps control inflation and support the economy. This is not to be confused with Prime Rate, which is what drives mortgages and lines of credit, which is still at 4.95%.

🌎 What’s Going On?
Trade problems with the U.S.—like new tariffs and confusing rules—are making it harder to predict what will happen in the economy. The Bank of Canada says there are two possible paths:

Mild trade issues → Canada’s economy slows a bit, inflation stays around 2%.
Big trade war → Canada could fall into a recession, and inflation might go over 3%.

🌐 Around the World
The U.S. economy is slowing and people are worried.
Europe is growing slowly.
China is starting to cool off too.
Markets are jumpy, oil prices are dropping, and the Canadian dollar is getting stronger.

🍁 In Canada
People and businesses are spending less.
Home buying and job growth are slowing.
Inflation was 2.3% in March but could go up again due to tariffs and supply issues.
The removal of the carbon tax will help keep prices lower for now.

The Bank of Canada is watching things closely. They want to:

Support the economy

Here’s the scoop:
A cash back mortgage gives you a chunk of money upfront 💰—usually up to 3-5% of your mortgage amount. Sounds awesome, right?
It can be… if you’re using it to pay off debt, cover a penalty, or qualify for your new home 🏠.

BUT (and it’s a big ol’ BUT)…

If you break that mortgage early (and 6 out of 10 people do)
➡️ You’ll owe a penalty
➡️ PLUS you’ll have to repay some or all of that cash back
It’s like your mortgage turns into your ex asking for their hoodie back—plus interest.

So before you go spending that money like you just won the lottery, make sure you’ve got a solid plan for it.
